In a recent article published by Market Watch, J.B. Kropp has joined The E.W. Scripps Co. as VP, digital strategy and business development. Kropp is an entrepreneurial leader and social media marketing expert. In Kropps new role, he will oversee the digital entrepreneurs-in-leadership team and in addition will work with the digital leadership team to execute the companies long range digital strategies.
With a strong social media marketing and start-up background, Kropp is widely respected and a great candidate for the position. Adam Symson, chief digital officer for Scripps states, “with our aggressive digital media strategy, we needed a true innovator who could lead new business development from its conceptual design through development and all the way through execution to long term stability.” The team believes that his background and creativity will help them with their business and product development.
Right now, The E.W. Scripps company provides audiences and and businesses with a growing portfolio of TV, print and digital media brands. The company owns 21 local TV stations and daily newspapers in in 13 markets across the United States. In addition, Scripps also produces TV programming. With Kropp joining the team, he will be able to contribute his knowledge of digital media from his experiences at two different companies, while working as an executive at Twitter with its client Proctor & Gamble. He was able to help P&G develop social media marketing frameworks for its global brands.
Moving forward to Kropp’s start date on June 27th, it will be interesting to see what Kropp will be able to do for Scripps with digital markting.
